Nefi Garrido

Nefi Garrido is originally from Mexico. He has resided in the United States in Utah for over 22 years. He is the father of 4 children and happily married to a great woman originally from Brazil.

For many years Nefi has been involved with community groups that have provided programs that assist children and youth with development activities in various aspects. He has always been interested in serving those who need his support or advice.
Nefi agreed to be part of the board of directors of Building Hope Foundation because he believes in this program’s values and has provided communities or families with fewer resources or opportunities. He has always believed that when you give youth guidance and access to the right tools or opportunities, they can discover the potential they possess. Nefi believes that the opportunities provided through this foundation can bring great benefit to those being served.
Nephi stated:
“I am honored to be able to serve in the Building Hope Foundation and see how it brings “hope” to many lives with such simple acts like being able to build a room for a family or remodel a school in a less privileged community. There is a lot one could do, but one block at a time is better than just having the best wishes for others.”
Odaliz Wood
Board Member - Social Media Manager
Odaliz Wood is originally from Mexico. She grew up living in Utah for 21 years and is currently living in Maryland with her husband and young son.
Odaliz is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Business Management through Brigham Young University- Idaho. She has a Social Media Marketing Certificate and multiple certifications with content design and research. She is currently working as a Social Media Manager/Consultant freelancer.
From as young as she can remember, Odaliz has always been involved with community service activities and projects. She has led groups of young women by teaching and empowering them to pursue their academic and career goals. She also was the Service Project Manager for LIA, an organization that helps empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through college and career readiness.
Back in 2016-2018, she served as a Volunteer Representative in San Fernando, California. There she participated in community service and cleaning activities, as well as helping to teach and serve those in her surrounding area. Her drive is to help those in her community with the talents and resources she has been privileged with.
Because of that, in 2021, Odaliz reached out to Nicki Biscupovich (president of Building Hope Foundation), offering her knowledge and experience to help grow Building Hope Foundation through various social media channels. She believes in Nicki and the values and goals established for this organization. She wanted to be a part of helping bring awareness to the situations people are facing in less privileged communities. She then accepted being a part of the board of directors.
Odaliz stated:
"I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve in this organization and help those in the Central and Latin American communities. Being Hispanic myself, it's something that hits closer to home. I know not everyone has the opportunities I have been given, so I want to continue to give back and help in any way I can. I've seen what Nicki has done in the past and fully believe in this cause and organization to continue to help so many people now and in the future."
